‘Because you’re worth it’…or perhaps not if we don’t buy into the lifestyle, image or brand in front of us. We are constantly bombarded with images of perfection, notions of beauty that are unobtainable – all strike at and challenge how we perceive ourselves - our self-worth, self-esteem and self confidence; am I bad mother, father, wife, husband, girlfriend? Because I don’t behave in a certain way and because I have/don’t have such and such a thing. Added to peer and family pressures of how we should look, feel and dress and we have a recipe for disillusionment and ‘imbalance’ with how we live our lives.
Part of the role of a healer is to help the client step aside from the situation, see the drama of life unfolding itself in a space of conscious detachment – see how we are behaving and those around us – is this for my highest good? Am I being the best I can be? By detaching our self from a given situation we can often see things with a new perspective and get in touch what the right path should be.
People often equate healing with the body; yet healing also transcends the mental and emotional parts of selves, bringing light into the more ‘muddy’ areas of our consciousness. A healer could be described as a spiritual pathway clearer; unclogging energy pathways stuck in negative thinking and repeated patterns of behaviour. The healer assists in clearing and opening up these pathways, sometimes in subtle ways and in others in revelations to the client. All things are revealed ‘in time and on time’ when the person is ready to receive.
Timing is of great importance in the healing process and indeed how we may come across a healer; often these seemingly innocuous coincidences are moments of divine timing leading you to embrace a new thought or aspect of yourself, after all if life is not to love and discover more of ourselves, others and the world around us, what is the point. In the words of C.G Jung ‘who looks outside dreams; who looks inside wakes’.
Healing is therefore the restoration of ‘balance’ and equilibrium into a person’s life, they are far more likely to initiate changes needed to find happiness and fulfilment if borne of their own initiative and understanding of a situation or their own behaviour. Many experience a profound sense of inner-peace and contentment during the healing session and afterwards wish to continue this spiritual journey and develop as a person and often nourish hidden talents or gifts in their possession. Every one of us is blessed with a hidden gift, bringing us back into touch with what was once lost is often a blessing in itself.
We are all multi-dimensional, multi-faceted beings, needing to express ourselves in a multitude of ways, whether it be a musician, painter, singer, car mechanic or what ever endeavour brings us peace and enrichment.
You have a right to be happy, fulfilled, healthy and wealthy. I would like to leave you with this:
Whatever you can do
Or dream you can,
Begin it.
Boldness has genius, magic
And power in it.
Begin it now.
